Day 2 of 2 covering additional sections that form part of the UTS 100K. This section does not feature in the UTS 165K or 50K route.
UTS 100K North Loop Recce- 15km, 1480m+
A shorter but very beneficial route for those taking on the challenge of UTS 100K. This loop encounters some technical ground and tricky pathless terrain which is well worth scoping out before race day! Starting from the Pen-y-Gwyrd hotel we will follow the Miners Track up the shoulder of Glyder Fach. The route then descends via a scree path to Trfyan Bwlch and into Ogwen Valley. Taking in Llyn Bochlwyd and Llyn Idwal we the route then heads up the North East Ridge of Y Garn and along the top of the Glyderau to Glyder Fawr. A final descent via the infamously pathless ‘red dot path’ to Pen Y Pass and the final section to the Pen-y-Gwyrd hotel.
The recce days are designed to provide an inclusive, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere and usually attract a mixed ability group, so if you're looking for a tougher challenge, please consider asking for a private guide instead.
This event is open to any runner but is limited to just 12 places. £45 pp please note this is a fully guided event.
