Day 1 of 2 covering the entire UTS 50K route across a weekend. Please note this recce weekend is open to any runner as the loops also form part of both the UTS 100K and 165K routes. Days can be booked individually but what a perfect training opportunity to get the whole course covered across two days!
Llanberis Recce Route - 30km, 2128m+
The day starts off leaving Llanberis via ‘telegraph alley’ and over to Bron-y-fedw farm (CP2 of the 50K and 100K routes). Please note Bron-y-fedw farm is located on private land and should not be visited in other circumstances. From here we link up to the Rangers Path, taking in the summit of Snowdon and then descending via Y Lliwedd an exciting but very achievable G1 scramble.
We reach Pen-y-Pass at the 20km mark. Here runners will be able to top up water, use public toilets and buy additional snacks and hot drinks from the YHA cafe.
The final 10km of the route takes us back up Snowdon via the fun and rocky Pyg Track before we make our final descent back to the start point via the Llanberis Path.
The recce days are designed to provide an inclusive, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere and usually attract a mixed ability group. This event is open to any runner but is limited to just 12 places. £45/pp Please note this is a fully guided event.
